Here is a 16mm. home movie of Chicago's 1933 World's Fair in all its troubled splendor. It comes from our David Gray Collection, which includes other footage of Chicago from the 1930s through 1960s. Highlights of this reel include an animatronic tyrannosaurus rex, a strange looking Radio Flyer sculpture and a building titled "Infant Incubators - with living babies."

All's Well At The Fair
Very fun visit to the world's fair here. A lot of this I hadn't seen before, and so it's all great to see this early 1930s architecture and lettering. I'm a little leery about calling it a home movie, too many professional looking shots, but what shots they are! That skyride looked... interesting. I wonder how many people could fit in there and when they realized that wasnt such a good idea lol. And how does it turn around?
